In addition to transportation engineering courses offered by Rutgers’ Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, a unique Graduate Certificate in Transportation Studies, a RITS initiative, is offered jointly by Rutgers’ Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and School of Engineering. The program increases interdisciplinary collaboration between planning and engineering and has been extremely successful in recruiting and educating a wide range of students from both disciplines.
